A gorgeous outdoor ceremony in the sun, a stylish reception, two black helicopters, a ride to the mountains, a bit of golf, some fijian dancing, the haka, big blue skies, cute details and two very beautiful, model-esque yet relaxed and lovely people getting married. Sometimes life throws you a tough one and you just have to battle through. I'm sure you can sympathise.
Actually the only downside to this wedding was me getting Camera-Arm. Much like Truckers-Arm (sunburn on the one side) only a result of holding a camera up all day in the sun. Then on the way back to Dunedin on Sunday it was so sunny I got Truckers-Arm anyway!

Thanks guys for being such a pleasure to photograph, and for pulling off such an elegant, entertaining yet intimate day. x

Kylie made the hat...

During the speeches Kylie made a point of thanking Nelson's parents for his dimples!

Lush. Apparently I say that a lot at weddings - I can't help myself, it's my welsh roots! And besides, it's a far better word than something lame like 'awesome' :) I'm off to Queenstown in a mo for a wedding tomorrow. I used to take ages to pack when it was just me going away. A husband, baby and two dogs plus my camera gear needs about a week of organisation so I'd better get to it....

For this last shot, I made Ann trudge over rough terrain in her gigantic heels for a 20 minute

Ann and Hong are such the sweetest couple, and I hope I've captured a bit of that in these images. Thanks for being SO obliging and lovely guys..
I'm back in Queenstown next week for a wedding, and in the meantime I have a wedding tomorrow at the Art Gallery that I should be blogging over the next few days so stay tuned.
Wow Sinead these images are just stunning. Can we have more of Elmer please?

As befits a couple with such film-starry names, Jacqui and Kirk got married on top of a snowy mountain, a short helicopter ride away from Queenstown! I've been known to offer people discounts in the past if they promise to do something really extravagant on their wedding day (like get married on top of elephants or do the entire last dance from Dirty Dancing..) but hey, if this kind of thing is commonplace in New Zealand then no more discounts! This wedding was SO much fun!!
Here is me in the helicopter just before we took off (er, the 24mm lens isn't too flattering!)

Continuing with the film star theme, here is Jacqui looking extrememly glam in her wedding car:

Getting ready for the flight:

Jacqui and Kirk eloped from Melbourne, Australia.. only they brought their mums too (aww!). I think this is nervous laughter as the helicopter takes off...

We landed on a snowy spot overlooking all the surrounding mountains (some of which were used in the Lord of the Rings films), and Jacqui and Kirk set about getting married!

Some shots in the snow... it was pretty cold, Jacqui just must be slightly superhuman because she left her coat off for a good half an hour..

Back in the helicopter...

And a bit of champagne in the car on the way home....

Ahhh, the glamour of it all! So, if anyone reading this is considering getting married on a yacht in the carribean, or.. I don't know... in a chocolate factory or something.. just let me know, I may be able to squeeze you into my busy schedule. Ahem.
Thanks Jacqui and Kirk for having me along! xxxx
