About Me

Hi! Welcome to my new blog. You'll find images here from my latest wedding and portrait shoots as well as other random happenings. Use the new menu bar to navigate around... For those of you who haven't just travelled through my website to get here, here is the link: www.sineadjenkins.com. I'm also on Facebook.

Nathan and Nicola got married in Mosgiel on a perfectly hot and sunny day. They are so suited to eachother and make the cutest couple. The wedding was relaxed, happy and really good fun, which is pretty much what they were planning. Speeches were kept to a minimum so the party could start without delay...

Here are some of my favourites. Not much time to type since I'm just back from a wedding up in Hawkes Bay (Hastings area) and am off to another wedding today! In the meantime I'm off to cuddle my baby in the sun...

Bede Beaumont catered - I love these cute little cheeseburgers. Oh, and they had really tasty little rare beef and mustard canapes. I love mini food!

Susan and Andrew are NZers who now live in Belgium, speaking between them all the languages of the world (that's a slight exaggeration but not by much). They travelled back to Dunedin for their wedding which was a very classy, intimate occasion. This wedding had me thinking of classic black and white photography, a la 1950s Paris. Plus I think Susan has a very classical look about her that lends itself to b&w photography..

Alana at PlanitPerfect co-ordinated the day. It's the first time I've worked with her and she was lovely. I think the website may be down but she's in the book if you want to look her up, or look here

Zoe and Michael met in Dunedin whilst at University here (for Dunedinites they met outside the Scarfies house when Zoe was living there!) so we went back to the flat on their wedding day for a few shots. This was such a relaxed and happy wedding, everyone was just really delighted to see Zoe and Michael tie the knot.

Ceremony was on Ocean Beach (there's a beautiful cove at one end) and reception was at Ironic in town. Such nice food at Ironic, and I am forever in love with Zoe and Michael for insisting on us having takeaway dessert since we left before it was served. Liana (my lovely assistant) shared hers with her husband when she got home. I ate mine with my fingers on the way home in the car. Sorry Steven.

We were kind of lucky with the weather since summer here so far has been AWFUL..

Wedding season has begun now for me (was kind of nice to have December off when my folks were here) so I'll have a few more weddings up over the next few weeks. And if it doesn't start getting sunny and hot in Dunedin soon I'm going to move to Fiji.

Liana (the lovely assistant who shared pudding with her husband):

oh nice of ya to mention me Sinead! I have even managed to spot myself a couple of times ooh naughty me, bit like where's wally ya know..I have blended in nicely into the crowd hee. Well now that I have had a mention am I allowed to give the 'assistant' opinion?... Another fine job by you of course and Zoe and Michael and their entourage were such fun. Zoe and Michael had such a great look about them, not a lot of people can pull of that serious look eh that mysterious look!! but they could and you captured it perfectly..just stunning..well that's my opinion anyway

Sinead:

Yes you are allowed to give your opinion Liana - and what a fine opinion it is! I agree, Zoe and Michael rock the urban grunge/chic look magnificently. I did spot you in a photo - you're the other skater at the skate park of course!

Rebecca (otherwise known as Bex) and Nick got married this month in St John's Church followed by a reception at Larnach Castle. They are completely besotted with one another, and to my delight opted to see eachother before the ceremony. I think this is such a gorgeous thing to do on your wedding day. Not only can you have that 'first look' moment before your formal vows infront of everyone, but you also get a chance to be alone together, and say all those lovely things you think of when you first see your husband/wife-to-be ...

Also I suppose if you're the worrying type, it's reassuring to know that your other half will be actually turning up at the church.

Bex is a big animal lover, and their dog Taylor was part of the fun at the start of the day, soaking up all the attention since their cat was too photo-shy to turn up.

Lush. Thanks for a gorgeous wedding guys. And for trusting me to do exactly what I wanted and leaving me to it!

The weather in Dunedin at the moment is less than desirable so my outdoor photoshoot this afternoon has been postponed. The barn is being battered by gale-force winds and hail, but everyone inside is nice and cosy. The dogs are dozing on their armchairs, Elmer is sleeping in his vibrating bouncer, my parents have left to visit Milford Sound, and Steven is off doing some work. I kind of like these times when I have the place to myself. Since its Christmas 'n all, I should probably go and string up some lights...

The lovely Emma and Ben are getting married next month in Lauderdale, and got me to shoot their engagement session in Dunedin recently. Ben just LOVES being photographed (joke) so the idea of this shoot was to get some great images of him and Emma without looking like Ben is in too much pain, and also to to get comfortable infront of the camera before the end of January. Mission accomplished, I hope. Either that or I've scarred him for life...

Thanks for putting up with me guys, I expect to see you jogging around Ross Creek regularly now with your dog...

In other news, my parents have arrived for a baby inspection, and they brought with them a furry baby bear suit. He's wearing it right now! So I have some cute photographs to post....
