Shuffling past the cupboards and the table, often with a toy car for company:

Attempting to open the freezer, but failing because I've sellotaped it shut:

Staring at the chickens whilst I hang the washing out:

Rearranging the cups on the bottom shelf:

And staring outside, waiting for the dogs to come and entertain him:

That's an image from the start of the month - I have taken my Christmas tree down!

Note to self: Don't make Elmer wear embarrassing stuff like this. EXCEPT, if it is properly themed - like a Christmas Elf, or a Dinosaur, or the Easter Bunny. I am definitely making him a dinosaur outfit this year.
Paddy's the only one who comes out of this with any dignity
(01.14.11 @ 11:23 PM)That was one of my favourite outfits. And I've kept it in case Elmer has a little sister! M x
(01.15.11 @ 06:12 AM)Why wait for Elmer to have a little sister? They look uni-sex to me. In fact if you've kept them both we can keep him in fashion from the age of 4 to 12. Send them over Monica. With a wash and an iron they'll be sparkly new.
(01.17.11 @ 01:24 PM)Silly comments page. Sinead doesn't refer to her mother as Monica. Steven the husband does
(01.17.11 @ 01:28 PM)1) The house build.... I know I don't blog about it very much. That's because it's such a slow moving monster! The wooden framed house design requires a lot of intricate work, and Steven has taken it all on himself. We can't afford to pay a builder or a carpenter, but this is also a labour of love and the intention was always for Steven to do this himself. We are ALMOST at the roof stage, and that is a big step.
In 2011 the house will be FINISHED! I can't imagine it, honestly. I am so so so excited, but keeping that well under wraps because who knows how long this thing will take......
2) My photography - I have a LOT of weddings booked this year. Which is fabulous. Infact I won't have time to worry about the house because I am going to be very busy editing, travelling, meeting and shooting. I also have a new website and branding in the works.
3) Visitors. My sister is arriving in 3 weeks time, and in March my parents will be here. Again, I'm keeping my excitement under wraps here because these two events are a big deal for me. And Elmer.
4) Elmer will be 2 years old. This year!! That's just crazy!
5) I suppose the biggest thing for me in 2011 is that by the end of the year, when the house is finished, I hope to get back to some semblance of a normal life. When you're building a house, all the spare time you would normally spend on leisure, gets eaten up with the build (plus I do a lot of things that Steven would normally do if he wasn't building). I hope that by 2012 I will spend more time reading books, watching films and lying around doing nothing. Will Elmer be old enough to make me cocktails by then? Let's hope so.

That's either Vegemite or chocolate. I'm not sure. Elmer's new years resolution is to be a better sleeper!
His other resolution could be to learn to clean his face, seems neither of us thinks it's a high priority. Bad baby, messy baby!
(01.05.11 @ 12:42 PM)He's more charming with food on his face!

(12.24.10 @ 11:50 PM)Wow! That is such a beautiful photograph (and subject of course) have a lovely Christmas Elmer x
(12.25.10 @ 01:16 AM)In the meantime, here is our Christmas tree! I know I said I wasn't going to have one, but then I got a little sad about the possibility of a tree-less Christmas, so Steven went out and hacked down a pine branch for me. So romantic! The branch isn't quite the perfect shape for a Christmas tree, but I love it. Plus it smells beautiful. Here is the tree, and in particular the angel I made for the top:

Next year Steven has promised we will have a gigantic Christmas tree in the house. Until then, I'm happy with my make-do barn version. Oh and here is our place, a couple of nights ago after the clouds lifted:

I'm editing images from Shelley and Bailey's BEAUTIFUL wedding last weekend. And this afternoon I have to go out and purchase some last minute gifts, with Elmer. He's teething again, which isn't much fun for anyone involved, but I'm hoping that with this 4th molar just finishing pushing through, we'll have a bit of a break over Christmas!
ooh your tree is great!! and I love your angel and decorations!! you are so clever
(12.23.10 @ 12:32 PM)I love the last photo of the moon! Amazing!
(12.23.10 @ 05:19 PM)Thank you ladies! xxx
(12.23.10 @ 05:46 PM)What do you mean 'he's teething again'? I thought we'd agreed he's got sixteen teeth already. Isn't that enough? You're going to have to firm with him. We'll see you on Skype on (your) Christmas morning. I'm planning to wear my Santa Claus hat. I'll speak to Elmer about teeth and toys, making clear there's a linkage. You shouldn't have any problems after that.
(12.24.10 @ 12:08 AM)I love the angel especially!
As for that photo...that could be your Christmas card for 2011.
Can't wait for the next blog!!

Have a lovely Christmas Sinead, Steven and Elmer and our good wishes for 2011.
Looking forward to seeing Elmer's latest photograph.
