Just got back from Auckland where I had an Engagement Photoshoot with uber-cool couple Emily and Dixon. I am SO excited about their wedding in March. Take a look at the website they designed and created themselves (as designer and web-developer super-pairing). I've seen quite a few 'getting married' couple websites in my time, but this is by far the best. Yeah, they just knocked this up in their spare time after working 2 full-time jobs and running their own business....

When I see a website like this I think wooohoo - the wedding is bound to be amazing! I just hope my engagement shots do them justice..! (to be blogged soon....)

Stacey and Paul are a funny, happy, beautiful couple. Not in the triple-whammy way that you might secretly hate them for it, but in the kind of way that they're really good fun to be around and REALLY easy to photograph. When I received their Wedding Questionnaire (that I send to all my couples) in the post, they had both scrawled all over it and it was so funny! I was laughing out loud in my empty little office. Well, I say office, I mean my desk in the corner...

During the shoot I imagined we were in any number of different cities, all within little ole' Dunedin (Stacey and Paul's dog Paige came along for the ride).

The lovely Emma and Ben are getting married next month in Lauderdale, and got me to shoot their engagement session in Dunedin recently. Ben just LOVES being photographed (joke) so the idea of this shoot was to get some great images of him and Emma without looking like Ben is in too much pain, and also to to get comfortable infront of the camera before the end of January. Mission accomplished, I hope. Either that or I've scarred him for life...

 

I recently introduce Engagment Photography Sessions into my Wedding Photography packages, and couples have been asking about what these involve. In response to this I've just added a new page to my website under my portrait section, and called it 'Engagement Sessions'. It contains a gallery of images from recent sessions so you can see the type of imagery I like to capture of couples before they marry. The sessions are very laid back, and a good opportunity for us to get to know eachother before the big day.

I'm offering Engagement Photoshoots now as part of my packages. On my old blog I explained that these are basically images of couples before they get married - a chance to have photographs of the two of you just being you. For me it is a chance to document your relationship and get you photo-ready for the big day. Sheryl and Steve booked me for their wedding before I even got to New Zealand, and so being my first NZ couple they have a special place in my heart (sniff!)

It was a lovely warm day in Dunedin (I know!!) so of course we headed to the seedier parts of town to hang out whilst everyone else was on the beach.
