I just love it when people specifically want something less conventional and are willing to let me do my thing. These guys make such relaxed, loving parents, I really wanted to capture the relationship they have with their baby daughter, and they were happy to leave me to it. Isn't she lush? We were all a bit nervous about the summer weather (hello Dunedin?!!!!) but actually the midday slot we organised was very overcast and made for perfect lighting. Plus it wasn't freezing cold, woohoo!
I'm really enjoying baby shoots post-Elmer (I mean, post having-Elmer!) since I understand each age a little better. Plus it's nice to have a change of pace from the weddings.

Best friends:

The trusty NZ gumboot:

Sophie has a proper old school jolly jumper like Elmer's, that actually bounces. Not like the rubbish new versions that are far 'safer':

Little baby feet!!!!
Here is my family this week, Elmer having just got up from a nap, but not quite ready to greet the day yet. Amazing how much it takes for him to get to sleep, and how hard he finds it to wake up...

Another baby blog on the way today too.
More than that though, Rebecca kept in contact with me about wedding plans and ideas, and I knew we were a good match.
It started raining shortly before the ceremony, and when Rebecca arrived (in a VW combi van!) she looked up at the sky and said "You know what? I don't even care that it's raining!" Her are Ryan are both this down to earth, which I love.
The last two weddings I've shot (including this one) have had me in tears. I wonder where Elmer gets his emotional side from?

Loved this flower girl:

Barbie 'n' Ken. Notice the personalised details!

A ring warming ceremony:

The church has been de-consecrated, and as such you can have a civil ceremony inside. I think this is a fantastic idea if you like the look of a church building but aren't religious. Jill (local celebrant) is also lovely.

Saw something similar on someone's blog recently and I liked the idea!

This is a tiny little bar in town called MOU. I love it:

Lush. I'm really into photographing dancing at the moment, it's almost my favourite time of the wedding day. Apart from the meal (haha - joke!)
I'm chilling today after getting home from a Geraldine wedding last night after midnight. It was a goody though, can't wait to blog some images.
WOW!!! Sinead these are amazing, thank you a million times over, and thankyou for writing such lovely things about us :) Cant wait to see the other pics. LUSH

He entertains himself by climbing up and down the front step whilst I work. Life is very very busy at the moment and I'm up till midnight working on images and emailing. At times like this I long for winter. It's knackering trying to look after a baby/toddler and work at the same time. Hopefully this time next year life will be a lot easier! Its all worth it though. Man alive, he is SO cute at the moment.
You'd normally see most kids his age cry going down a slide lol
(02.16.11 @ 05:10 PM)Thanks Jasmine. I'm very proud as you can probably tell!
(02.16.11 @ 05:21 PM)I almost squealed with delight when Steven pressed the 'buy it now' button on Trademe, but I contained myself because Elmer was asleep upstairs. The advert called it 'Masport Busy Person's Mower', and I like the sound of that...

Roll on good weather so I can try it out!
I'd like to add an important note to this entry. Spending my weekends on one of these things is my personal version of Hell. That could be helped if it was fitted with a more powerful motor and pulled wheelies.
