I've said before how much I love shooting in Oamaru, so I was delighted to be back there shooting Chenoa and David's wedding recently. These two have been together for ages, and have a really strong, effortless bond with eachother. The vows were beautiful, and they said them under a big Acer tree at Weston Gardens, whilst tens of white butterflies fluttered around on the heather infront of them. Also, despite the non-summer we've had down this way, the sun came out for C & D, and we made the most of it.
I met up with Chenoa, her sister and her mother the week before the wedding. We chatted about the details and style of her day. I was so pleased when Chenoa's sister said that for Chenoa, the romantic element of the day was key - when she was young, she had an obsession with Anne of Green Gables, and then Pride and Prejudice. I remember watching Anne of Green Gables when I was home sick from primary school, and of course Pride and Prejudice has a huge influence on our ideas of romance today. It was so cool to have this kind of inspiration behind the photoshoot that we did.
Oh and considering this, I absolutely love Chenoa's dress. It's so floaty and feminine, and well.. very modern day-Elizabeth Bennett.

See the flowers? Chenoa's florist used to work in Paris, and this bouquet was incredible.

David came to meet her so that they could walk up the aisle together.

LOVE this building, and the warm glow it captures in the afternoon.

Oamaru stone!

(I know, don't you just want to plunge your face into those strawberries??)
I'll have a bit more time for catching up on blogging now, since I just did my last wedding of this season on Saturday, and mum and dad went home this morning :( I'm looking forward to a couple of months of gardening (I'm OLD and BORING), planning the interior of our new house (!!!!), and spending quality time with Elmer. Actually I'm going to have to spend more quality time with Elmer since his chief babysitters just left!! I have a beautiful winter wedding in July and then I'm jetting off to the UK again for the European summer. Quite exciting really.
