Similar age, same cute boat jumper... I recognise the Elmer expressions in his 3 year old self. I wonder if that will be the case for Milo too...

Here's what I forsee in their future: Elmer, the sensitive dreamer, but also the quiet joker... the entertainer, delighted when he makes people laugh.... Milo? His audience.

This was a teeny mini shoot I did for Shelley Povey last week after she shot some family portraits for us (which is amazing of her because she is VERY pregnant). I can't miss out on another milestone in Shelley and Bailey's lives because I have a lot of the others here, here, here and here. Beautiful family.

And a few cute ones of our boys together...

Cute aren't they?
Next up... Milo and Elmer x

It feels like a looooong time since I last blogged. I've been sick in the interim, and also spent lots of time changing nappies, finding elusive jigsaw pieces, and scraping squished banana off my bare feet. That type of thing.
BUT, I have also been doing lots of editing and slideshow creating, and nice weddingy things. One of them is this wedding, my first ceremony out at Orokonui Eco Sanctuary, which is a mere few minutes from my house! Shamefully, I have never properly been inside the sanctuary, always waiting for visitors to be here so I can take them and... they can hold my children for me. Pretty cool that my first time through the big security gates was for a sunset wedding overlooking the beautiful Blueskin Bay.
Jo and Nik are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Family and friends are uber important to them, and although it was a beautiful, detailey wedding, the focus was on the ceremony, having fun, and enjoying the celebration.
As I probably said to them about 400 times (sorry), the light at this time of year, at the golden hour before sunset, IF it is a lovely sunny day, is the BEST LIGHT of the entire wedding season, in my humble opinion. The risk is of course that it might be cloudy and quite cold, but Jo and Nik took the risk and it paid off beautifully.
Oh and check out the sunset!! Straight out of camera, no lie. We've had some amazing sunsets around here recently.

Yum. More bloggin' coming up.

A night recently with a beautiful sunset.

No one is happier than me to hear that car come down the drive after a long baby/work day.

I shot my last wedding of the summer season last week and I have a lot of blogging to catch up on. Milo didn't want me to blog (or do anything other than deal with his teething issues) last week, so I'm a little behind on all fronts.
What better place to start though than the wedding of Amy and Chris, who married at Islington in Mosgiel followed by a reception at the Rowing Club. Looking back on the images I realise how autumnal they are, with the oranges and yellows in the trees and all the beautiful falling leaves. It felt like the end of summer on the day though, it was warm, with just the right amount of afternoon sunlight coming through the haze. Amy had hung lanterns in the big tree at Islington, and during the ceremony leaves gently fell to the ground. It was lovely. The day before we discussed getting some sunset shots on the balcony at the Rowing club, and the timing turned out perfectly for us. I took some shots as I drove home too, with the light disappearing from the sky.
Amy had a very definite and confident style for this wedding. I loved the stationary, details, the messages on her shoes, the lawn games, and Amy's beautiful custom made dress. The timings were great, and it felt like people had plenty of opportunity to chat, mingle and enjoy the sun.
Amy and Chris compliment eachother beautifully.. I enjoyed photographing these two.
