Wedding season is almost here, so I’m going to finally post up a couple of weddings from last season (only a few months ago) that I never got around to blogging.
Kitty and Ben had a wonderfully unique and happy ceremony at Orokonui at the start of autumn. Kitty’s dad is a photographer and we started out at his old studio in town where the girls met the boys and the light was soft and pretty. Their ceremony was in the evening, down in the long grasses next to the pond at Orokonui. In between getting ready and heading over the hill, Kitty, Ben and their closest friends dodged the rain showers to capture some stormy images at the top of Mount Cargill and at a couple of sheltered spots nearby.
What stood out for me at this wedding was how completely relaxed and lovely everyone was, letting me do my thing whilst they laughed and joked and enjoyed eachother. I also loved the choice of poems during the ceremony. It’s so lovely when people go out of their way to choose words that describe their relationship and their personalities so well. Kitty and Ben are interesting and funny people and their ceremony reflected that beautifully.
Most of all I’m super pleased they chose me to capture their day, in all it’s wonderfully unique and down to earth loveliness…
